Profane Path
Aevumancy was a profane path and not true magic.
The power of aevumancy would allow a profane caster to grasp and mold the flow of time like clay. Aevumancy’s obscure name was often replaced with simple time magic, or its more grandiose term of sorcery of ages.
The Pursuit of Aevumancy
The primary allure of aevumancy was its transcendence of time and space; reality itself. Those who feared growing old or the change of things over time were the most attracted to aevumancy.
The path of aevumancy was started by creating an aevumantic talisman. The knowledge to forge such a talisman was locked behind demonic texts hidden across Legere, originally distributed by the Ultimate Evil.
An aevumantic talisman was a tiny thing forged from Demonium. It seemed to be an innocuous trinket at a glance, but it constantly whispered to the aevumancer that held it.
Circles of Aevumancy
First Circle
Slower Aging
Aevumancers aged at slightly slower rate, allowing them to extend their natural life span by around 50 percent.
Precognition
By invoking the power of their aevumantic talisman, an aevumancer could receive limited visions of the future. More powerful aevumancers could see further into the future, and these visions would have greater clarity.
Second Circle
Enhanced Perception
An aevumancer could perceive the flow of time slower than others. This allowed them to think faster and have better reflexes.
Teleportation
Aevumancers could tear open demonic wormholes that allowed transportion of the self and others across space.
Third Circle
Agelessness
As long as the aevumancer regularly communed with their aevumantic talisman, they could stop the process of aging and became immune to the unkindness of passing years. An aevumancer could live for thousands of years as long as they didn’t succumb to wounds, disease, starvation, or other sources of death.
Aevumancers that clung to their youthfulness often sprinted to reach the Third Circle as quickly as possible.
Chronostasis
An aevumancer could, for a very limited duration, cause the flow of time around them to stop. This would allow the aevumancer to move through the world without being perceived.
Gravity Control
Certain aevumancers could control the direction or even eliminate gravity in an area.
Fourth Circle
Chronokinesis
An aevumancer’s greatest accomplishment would be the total manipulation of time. They could transport themselves forward or backward through time, altering the history of the world as they saw fit. They could also indefinitely stop the flow of time.
