Vengeful Ewe

A surprisingly dangerous animal found in the Phayu Wing Mountains. From the outside, vengeful ewes appeared to balls of woolly fur with a pair of eyes and a pair of short, stubby horns. They waddled along with their four stubby legs. They seemed to be quite helpless creatures, often struggling to right themselves if they fell over, and tripping multiple times when attempting to move quickly. They made easy prey for predators. Yet, these seemingly pathetic animals flourished in their environment.

One would never guess it, but vengeful ewes were actually highly magical organisms. They possessed potent magic that only kicked in once a hormonal cascade had occurred post birthing process; vengeful ewes who were nurturing offspring became deadly monsters.

Vengeful ewes gave birth to live young, covered in fur and all--ready to face the harsh cold of their home. Approximately 2-3 hours after the last newborn exited the mother’s birth canal, the chemical reaction would complete and grant the mother powerful magic for roughly 3 to 4 weeks (depending on how much the mother would need to use it). This time was roughly equivalent to the time needed for a young vengeful ewe to mature. A mother could be recognized in this magical state by looking into its eyes, which would have a cloudy, light purple colouration within the pupils.

While in the magical state, a mother could become enraged if something threatened its children, and its magical powers would physiologically morph the creature’s body. Its legs would extend and shed fur, increasing mobility. Normally, vengeful ewes had a small mouth with short round teeth on the side of their spherical bodies, but once enraged, a new mouth would form from the top of their head, using portions of the skull as sharper, longer teeth. Its horns also split apart, giving way to longer, more pointed horns. The enraged vengeful ewe usually thrusted itself sideways during attacks, attempting to skewer with its horns or bite with its powerful jaws. The vengeful ewe also gained a flexible, whip-like tongue that it could use to pull itself towards the offending creature, or to immobilize it. Lastly, enraged mothers could channel massive power into the space between their horns, unleashing a directed energy blast capable of delivering 3 gigajoules of energy into a small area. This was enough energy to vaporize any human-sized being.

Vengeful ewes also gain massive regenerative abilities while in their magical state, which was helpful for recovering after raging.

Due to the deadly potential of these creatures, vengeful ewes were not successfully domesticated as livestock.
