Klo Ming

The klo ming was a massive creature, as long, if not longer, than Hydrisikk. Klo Ming had smooth, small scales, and a furry mane along the back of the base of their skull. Their eyes were said to glow orange like fire, and their scales were a glossy, turquoise hue. In western lands, the klo ming were often referred to as “skydrisikk” because of their visual similarity to the subterranean serpents.

Klo ming were flying creatures, channeling immense amounts of magical power to lift their serpentine masses into the sky in a manner that looked effortless. They lived along the northern shore of the Faction Sea, all the way up to Aon’s Bay. Klo ming tended not to travel far inland, nor stray too far from the shore. They hunted primarily shadow squids and wild sluggdon, but tended to avoid interfering with livestock.

Klo Ming Worship

Klo ming were regarded as highly intelligent, nearly deific creatures. The Isutan people had worshipped klo ming for thousands of years before and even after the Demon Wars.

Arcane Plasma #

Klo Ming were said to rain down the “fire of the sun” from their maws. In actuality, the klo ming could use their magical powers to create balls of superheated gas, governed by powerful electromagnetic fields. These electromagnetic fields were infamous for causing drastic changes in the weather, especially when the klo ming were high in the sky. The klo ming could direct these plasma balls at high speed, causing an impressive explosion on impact. Such a sight was incredibly rare, as klo ming would only use this power in self defense.

And what would want to attack so large and mighty a beast? In the ancient times, dragons and klo ming would engage in territorial disputes in the sky, causing a storm of fire and lightning to paint the skies orange. Klo ming plasma was so powerful and hot that it could overcome the excessive fire resistances that dragons possessed.

Extinction #

Shortly after the Songkram Empire's rise to power, klo ming were hunted to extinction. The Songkram wanted not only to hunt them for trophies, but also to study the klo ming’s “fire of the sun”.

Klo ming would live on only through the testimonies of elderly Isutans and skeletons. A famous drinking establishment in Fuga would build itself within the skeleton of a klo ming. The Songkram's high Court of Fire was decorated with the complete skeleton of a klo ming.
