Deadly Pit

A predatory plant found along the rivers running through the Tuku Jungle. The central body of the plant housed a massive sac filled with digestive juices, the top of which was surrounded by a wooden tooth-lined sphincter. Surrounding this central body were four animated tentacles capable of wrapping around prey and depositing them into the plant’s stomach. The tentacles also possessed wooden teeth-filled jaws that it used to injure prey, making it easier to catch.

Reproduction #

Deadly pits reproduced by forming small buds at the base of its main body, which it could disperse by “burping”--expelling gases that built up during its digestive process through channels that lead from the digestive sac to the exterior.

Bold explorers as well as the Tukumen learned how to brave the fearsome flesh-eating plant, gathering up its seeds in order to plant them in strategic locations-for example, guarding Tukumen territory from Tslakla and other invaders. Rich nobles had these plants strategically positioned in gardens so that they could guard their homes.
