Tukumen
The Tukumen were the native civilization of the Tuku Jungle; amber-skinned, mask wearing, and zealous in all they did. They were in a constant feud with the other native sapients of the jungle: the spiderlike Tslakla. The Tukumen were ingenious hunter-gatherers, with generations of knowledge of the jungle and its wildlife. They knew what to hunt, where to hunt them, and how to hunt them. They often employed the toxins of various wildlife (like frogs, snakes, etc) into their weapons to increase their effectiveness, as metalworking was not widely available to them. Wooden weapons were their main combat tools, which once combined with their various traps and poisons, were enough to fight the Tslakla and defend their lands.
The Tukumen and Tslakla had been at war for ages, with many generations forgetting what it was they truly fought for. But those who remembered remembered well--the Tslakla were inhabiting ancient ruins that were once the ancestral home of the Tukumen, and the Tukumen possessed an artifact that rightfully belonged to the Tslakla. Unfortunately, neither of these peoples were able to communicate effectively, so no diplomatic resolution would be reached for a long time. Logistically speaking, the Tukumen were the most likely to defeat the Tslakla if the conflict's original trajectory continued, as they actively participated in trade with outside people groups.
