Anton Tostapane Accetoni

Biography #

Born in the dimension known as Core, Anton's life was upheaved during a demonic invasion that saw the destruction of his world. Anton was whisked to Legere alone, the last of his people. The Angels promised that Anton could live on Legere among the people here where he would be as close to home as it could feel.

Despite being an alien, Anton struggled very little with adapting to life on Legere and was soon able to overcome the grief of losing his entire people and his family. While Anton started off in Phovezila with intent to becoming a farmer, Anton found that he craved a more meaningful life. With the money and supplies granted to him by the Angels when he first arrived, Anton found his way into the fighting pits. The superior technology within his blade and armour, combined with his superior Corian physiology, allowed him to gain the upper hand in every fight he took. However, he eventually grew weary of the monotony of the gladiatorial ring. He took to a new career: a lancer. A job that would pit him against many different foes and creatures in many different places across Legere. The Demon Wars occurred soon after, and Anton fought alongside the people of Legere to protect his new home. Anton proved invaluable to the war effort, as he knew how to perform repairs on Ancients damaged in combat.

Once the Demon Wars ended, Anton returned to his life as a lancer--a satisfactory profession for himself. Anton lived for hundreds of years, always learning more and more things about Legere as he travelled and spoke to people. He watched in silent sadness as his new people struck down the Ancients during the Ancient Wars. He saw the birth of Destral and its rise to technological power, reflecting a portion of his old home's glory. He watched the Archangel's Heroes ride across Legere, saving many from the forces of evil that swelled up from the earth. But Anton never interfered with such events, instead preferring to keep to himself. That which he stood against was protested silently, and that which he stood with he cheered for in a crowd.

Core Physiology #

Being from another dimension, Anton's body could abide by Legere's physical rules but it was ultimately built for life elsewhere. As such, he aged significantly slower than humans, his body was physically stronger, his nervous system ran faster, and he required little to no sleep.

Despite sounding like superpowers, Anton's separation from his homeworld was actually a weakness. In order to survive, he had to make sure that the miniaturized Core battery surgically fixed to his chest remained operational and intact. Destruction of the device would destabilize his existence and cause him to rapidly age until death.

Damage to this battery during the Legerian War led to Anton meeting this fate a year after the conflict.

Equipment #

Anton carried with him two main pieces of gear from his homeworld: his father's sword Segamo, and his Guardia Spaziale armour.

Segamo #

Segamo was Anton's father's greatsword, who carried it around primarily as a status symbol of his time as a member of the 22nd Guardia Spaziale combat corps before becoming a part of the Alti Signori. Anton recovered Segamo from his father's corpse after he had been slain by a Demon during the Shedim Invasion.

Segamo was a high-tech weapon created with the advanced technology available to the Corian peoples at the height of their golden age, "Regni Centrali". It was made primarily of Sintesium. Around its cutting edge, the sword could project a filament of hard light that spun at high speed, creating cutting power comparable to a wire saw. It could also be used as a makeshift firearm by projecting slabs of hard light from a side compartment situated parallel to the blade. This latter function was energy intensive and couldn't be used liberally without the sword's battery entering a refractory period.

The greatsword ran on a single crystal battery, which was capable of supplying the sword with enough power for at least a thousand Legerian years.

Guardia Spaziale Powered Armour #

Anton's armour was standard-issue sintesium armour given to every non-spec ops/elite soldier of the Guardia Spaziale. While Anton was already significantly stronger than the average Legerian human, his armour--powered by a crystal battery just like his sword--further enhanced his strength while also providing him solid protection against the magic and (comparably) primitive weapons of Legere.
