Shadorai
The towering shadorai were Songkram superweapons developed with the assistance of the Dark Mage Zak after the empire joined the Ebon Alliance. They were living shadows that were excruciatingly merged with living human hosts. Starsteel armour was bolted onto them, transforming them into towering, nigh-unstoppable tanks.
Shadorai had bodies standing up to 10 feet in height, grotesquely mutated with arcane power to unnatural size. The Songkram typically equipped such monstrous things with massive, cleaving swords or clubs, cutting down or sending reeling entire squads with a single blow.
Shadorai could also tear out parts of their own being before throwing them at opponents. These umbramantic homing projectiles were known as "shrieks" after their penchant to generate an ear-grating screech as they travelled, and their appearance as a floating shadowy maw. Upon arriving at their intended target, a shriek would bite down with explosive force, destroying itself with delivering an often fatal blow.
