Troll
Trolls were hulking behemoths that lived by freshwater bodies. They were predatory beings, often found next to intersections between bridges and rivers where they could snatch up travelers. Trolls would typically hunt deer-tigers and other large mammals over humans.
The appearance of a troll was truly monstrous, as they possessed no eyes or facial features other than a single cyclostomatic mouth that ran down its front. They also had 4 ear holes located on the sides of their head, allowing them to listen closely for prey. This compensated for their lack of sight.
A troll had a unique ability when it came to hunting. They could eject their teeth, which was connected to the jaw via a mucous coated, fleshy “net’. This often surprising technique granted trolls the ability to incapacitate (and even partially digest) prey while lying hidden.
Trolls were not very bright, but smart enough to create improvised bludgeoning weapons from rocks, branches or construction pieces (like wooden planks from bridges).
