Phayu
A large bird of prey with a wingspan of over 9 meters that called the Sangmyung Valley its home. They sometimes would wander as far north as Corgath.
Phayu birds were easily distinguished thanks to the unique striped pattern on their brown feathers, as well as the “sawtooth” bone formations on their wings. Phayu beaks were also razored, allowing them to easily hold prey in place. As with any large bird of prey, phayu were equipped with large, curved talons to aid them with hunting.
Phayu were held in high regard in Isutan culture, often considered to be the source of tailwinds and storms. Their wing “horns” were harvested for embellishments on armour, as well as for ceremonial/decorative weaponry.
