Nīn Sawei

Spoiler Alert

The secrets of Core and the other worlds were never meant to be known by the minds of the common folk.

The following article contains spoilers for The Disc Must Break.

Nīn Sawei was a Kenha of the Yubokumin who operated within Nekrosaka from 290-301 DHT. She was a Class 2 Augmented who actively engaged in anti-Bornu operations with the purpose of undermining their rule and one day freeing the people of her city from their oppression.

Childhood #

Nīn was born in 272 DHT into a common family in Nekrosaka, but joined the Kenha when she was 18 after her entire family was publicly executed as entertainment for Bornu parading through her neighborhood. Her only surviving family member was her younger brother Wan, who she chose to leave in order to avenge her other siblings and parents by becoming a kenha.

Her memory was erased, and she would never be able to realize that Wan would also go on to join the kenha five years later, adopting the new name of Varj.

Career #

Nīn served the Kenha fervently and effectively, carving her name into the annals of their resistance with every successful mission she embarked on. As luck would have it, she ended up working closely with her own brother, although neither of them could recognize the other thanks to the memories they had removed.

Nīn would also end up working closely with the fellow kenha Ranak Gaolin, a formidable demolition specialist.

Death #

In 301 DHT, Nīn would perish attempting to save her brother from the clutches of the Bornu-loyal Khatkir, Mah Lao. Mah Lao had taken her brother captive after Grandpa Kual of the Yubokumin had a special lithonatomical mnemonic disk implanted in the back of his skull. If the disc fell into the hands of the Bornu, it could be used to effectively undeo kenha memory erasure by accessing latent memories stored deep within the subconscious. This would have caused a catastrophic downfall for the entire kenha movement.

Nīn successfully infiltrated the Bornu fortress-prison of Kala-Uk, finding and destroying the mnemonic disc as it was being uninstalled from her brother. Having suffered extreme wounds, Nīn quickly succumbed to bloodloss, dying a hero to the kenha.
