Festerplains

A landscape covered in pulsating, glistening flesh, the Festerplains were a horrific sight to behold, as enormous shapes of blood and bone rose from the ground, culminating in structures that seemingly have no purpose or reason to exist. The Festerplains were sometimes referred to as the Breathing Jungle.

The Festerplains were seeded to the West of the The Nether Fountain, but continually expanded over the years. By the end of the Ancient Wars, almost all of the surrounding land that encompassed The Nether Fountain was covered in Festerplains flesh. Scholars propose that this rapid expansion of the Breathing Jungle was caused by the scavenged flesh[^1] from the massive casualties from the Demon Wars.

The Festerplains were the breeding sites for carnites, as well as carrion retrievers which made their way to the Ventrem Balloons that sprang up from the fleshy ground. The sole purpose of everything within this bizarre ecosystem was to grow.

The Festerplains were created by the decaying body of the Cyclops, which was trying to regenerate itself in an extremely misguided manner (since its head has long since separated from its body).

The Fetserplains' close proximity to the ocean also resulted in the formation of the Bloodcoast Sea, home to a wide variety of undersea horrors and other aquatic nightmares.
