Fell Bastions
The Fell Bastions were massive fortresses constructed by the Fallen Heroes with the assistance of Imps and slaves. They were manned by armies of unsavoury mercenaries and other men-at-arms willing to ally themselves with such explicit evil.
Fell Bastions became symbols of the Ultimate Evil's power across Hohm, with each of the six of them erected in strategic locations that allowed marauders to operate out of the fortresses, raiding the surrounding cities and countrysides of resources to further fuel their operations.

Locations #
Fell Bastions occupied land in Phovezila, Corgath, and nearby large city states like the Land Beneath the Snowy Mountain, and Destral. One of the Bastions was located northwest of the Phayu Wing Mountains, near Attitah, where it imperiled the Thaumaturgical Academy of Arcane Studies.
Purpose #
Each Fell Bastion's primary purpose was to safeguard the profane soul contraptions used by the Ultimate Evil to ensnare the essence of the Fallen Heroes.
Defenses #
A Fell Bastion was guarded by an impressive militia consisting of ruthless, cruel mercenaries; supernaturally empowered Imps; and an assortment of deadly traps and defensive siege equipment. Each bastion was different, but had anywhere between 3 to 5 descending or ascending levels. The keep of each bastion was home to the soul contraption, guarded by a profane mutant: a fierce beast that was hostile to all life[^1], including the Fallen Hero that was the master of that Bastion.
