Nova
A wispy, sentient cloud of magic that bobbed throughout the air of swampy areas and by riversides. With no internal organs, or flesh of any kind, novae were 100% magical creatures, animatedd by arcane forces acting on a cloud of inert gases, dust, and debris.
Novae were hunted by many people, harvested using specialized contraptions and stored in containers. As a single nova was essentially a sentient ball of magical power, they made an excellent source of energy for magical machines, acting as batteries and power supplies.
Novae lacked the ability to metabolize or reproduce (they were not actual organisms) but still recognized as a form of wildlife. Novae came to be, spontaneously in areas with concentrated magic.
