Razzekk
During the Amaranthine Reaping, some of the Naga that had resided in the depths under Fereina were isolated from the rest of their kind who evacuated beneath the Cyclopean Ocean to Hohm's underground world. These Fereinan naga made their way to the surface, and made their home within the darkness of Fereina's densest forests.
After hundreds of years of rapid naga proliferation, these naga speciated into the dominating razzekk.
Appearance #
Razzekk were significantly larger than Naga. While naga were indisputably physically imposing, they were still relatively lithe to accommodate the movement needed to traverse some of the tighter tunnels of the subterranean world. Razzekk had no such need of this, and adapted to the hostile environment by growing in size to fend off creatures like alufangs and other Fereinan predators.
The razzekk still strongly resembled their common naga ancestors, but with a few key differences:
- Razzekk tails ended in sharp, bony blades. Their tails were also significantly more articulate than naga's, allowing them to not only use this tail spike as a weapon, but also as a third arm--particularly useful for navigating the treetops.
- Razzekk had two massive fangs that they could extend from the top of their mouths. While this made them distinctly more serpent-like, razzekk also produced a mild venom that could cause victims to fall unconscious for a couple of hours.
- Razzek were chameleonic, able to change their scale's colours at will. While they weren't able to completely turn invisible like a Stealthserpent, razzekk could leverage this trait to improve their camouflage ability.
