Tambaboo

Tambaboo was a type of fruit-bearing bamboo found in the Sangmyung Valley. Its dark green colour with a slight blue tint easily identified it from other bamboo stalks.

Tambaboo Fruit #

Tambaboo was unique in that even though it was technically a grass, it bore fruit. Once a tambaboo stalk had grown four to six segments upwards, it would begin growing a fibrous fruit within its top-most segment. Once the fruit was ripe, the segment would split open on its own, revealing the fresh new food out to any hungry on-goers.
