Scarback
A deadly bacterial disease found mainly in the Dawn Wastelands. Scarback was characterized by painful, spiked red growths emerging from the diseased person's spine. While scarback would first create a superficially painful illness, eventually the spiked growth would create lesions on the lungs. After days of struggling to breathe, the diseased person would typically die. In rare cases where an infected individual survived, full-body paralysis was common.
